Wetsuits prevent you from suffering hypothermia when you want to play outdoors with your surfboard or wakeboard during cold days. You may want to choose wetsuits made for a specific water sport or you may want to choose one with an attractive design, but it also pays to know what are the materials that wetsuits are made of, so you will know what is suitable for your comfort.
The most common material that makes up a wetsuit is an artificially made rubber called Neoprene. Most wetsuits are pure Neoprene but others have a mixture of butyl rubber. These materials are flexible but some manufacturers have added more flexibility to wetsuits by adding some other materials like Merino wool, spandex and lycra.

A triathlon wetsuit, wakeboarding wetsuit, scuba diving wetsuit, or a surfing wetsuit is designed to keep your body warm. Have you ever wondered how wetsuits keep you warm in cold waters?
Wetsuits are designed to keep or maintain body heat when you are in the water. Water is said to drain your body heat twenty-five times more than air, thus exposure to cold waters without protection can lead to abnormal reduction of body temperature called hypothermia. When body temperature drops to very low levels, the different organs in the body could stop functioning.

Both wetsuits and drysuits are important gears for water sports lovers or those who work in or near cold waters.
A wetsuit is a garment worn to protect the wearer from losing body heat when submerged in cold or icy waters. It works by trapping a layer of water in the suit that eventually maintains body heat.
A drysuit on the other hand is a garment also worn to protect the wearer from the cold. As their names suggest, drysuits keep you dry while wetsuits allow water to come in between your body and the suit. Drysuits have tight seals on the parts where wetsuits have openings that allow water in. Below are other differences you might find between these two.

Some people think that surfing is a great lifestyle that will allow a surfer to be exposed to members of the opposite sex on a daily basis. Since most women think that surfers are very alluring, most surfers will tend to get very prepared to surf because one wrong move could make them embarrass themselves to women who sit in the sand and watch them perform tricks all day.

What is the difference between different wetsuit models? What is the difference between wetsuits for different sports? Can you use a diving wetsuit for snorkleing, windsurfing or swimming? Are they interchangeable or not? It depends. Generally wetsuits are designed to keep you warm, but the models can be quite different.
Two basic things you need to look for when you a buying a wetsuit are fit and warmth. The wetsuit must fit you just right, if it is too big it can be almost useless. And you have to get the right wetsuit thickness for the water temperature. So it is very important where the wetsuit will be used. Will you go scuba diving in Tahiti, snorkeling in the Seychelles or deep sea diving around Northern Europe?
